DANA: People in need. We can do something.
Ideas and initiatives to help people in the affected areas to support as an association.
The flood disaster in Spain occurred only a few weeks ago and seems to have been quickly forgotten in light of other current global political events.
Nevertheless, many people, not least epda members, are worried about the people in the region around Valencia, which we visited just a few months ago with our epda conference. ADCV, the Association of Designers in Valencia, has done a survey to find out how DANA affected Valencian design (in Spanish: https://www.adcv.com/xarxa-solidaria/). They are looking for ideas and initiatives to help people in the affected areas to support as an association:
ART FOR SALE
Designers, illustrators, and visual artists created art, which is now on sale in limited editions (25 pieces) to raise funds for the people affected. Several ADCV members are participating. Among them are Estudio Que Maten al Diseño (IG: @ estudioqmad); Nereida Tarazona (IG: @siemprecreando); Gonzalo Mora (IG: @gonzalo_mora_vlc); Ana Yago (IG: @anayagosanserif); Pixelarte (IG: @wearepixelarte); Déborah Gómez (IG: @deborah_graphic); Ana Tarazona and Tomás Gorria (IG: @tgorria). Artists and creatives have also set up a charity auction to help those affected: See here.
DONATIONS
And of course, there are several organisations in need of financial resources to keep on going: See here
We very much hope that reconstruction in the region will proceed with all efforts and that the economy will regenerate as best as possible in order to preserve jobs and avoid layoffs.
Together we are strong!
The art you see above is by Raquel Sáez Fliquete. You can purchase it as a poster online here.
