Born in 1984. Przemek graduated in Graphic Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. He was an advertising art director for most of his career, co-creating award-winning campaigns. He's been associated with Dragon Rouge for many years, where he helps large brands stay in motion, occasionally winning awards too. While staying close to Dragon Rouge, he has recently turned to craftsmanship and fashion, creating his brand ONE:ITEM, where he implements the idea of quality minimalism and sustainability in practice.

Ania Wieluńska

Graphic designer, typographer, and type designer. A graduate, PhD student, and lecturer at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where she runs a type design studio. She has received multiple scholarships from the Minister of Culture and the Minister of Science and Higher Education, as well as the Beatrice Warde Scholarship. Ania is the author of the ‘Lazarus’ project and co-author of ‘Bona Nova’, ‘Brygada 1916’, and ‘Półtawski Nowy’. She is a member of the program board of the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw and is part of both the Capitalics Warsaw Type Foundry and Typoteka.pl teams.

Adam Ryan

Adam joined the Pentawards in February of 2017 as Project Manager and was promoted to Head of Pentawards in 2019. He has many packaging design articles published with the likes of The Times, Creative Review, It’s Nice That and Campaign. He is one of the main contributors to The Package Design Book series published by Taschen. He spearheaded the launch of the Pentawards Festival held this year at the iconic Science Musuem. Adam studied Graphic Design at London College of Printing before pusuing a career as a fashion designer and creative consultant for several internations brands which include: Westfields, Diesel, Kurt Geiger and Lexus. In 2014, Adam was made Head of Brand at luxury jewellery company Tresor Paris where he worked for 3 years. In 2016, Adam worked as Creative Director for global YouTube stars the F2 Freestylers, who partner with Adidas. Adam has a wealth of experience across various industries which include Fashion, Design, Branding, Marketing and Events.

Mateusz Machalski

Mateusz Machalski, b. 1989, selected as Designer of the Year 2019 at the Polish Graphic Awards, Mateusz studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2009-2014) and graduated with the Rector's Award. He works at the Faculty of Graphic Arts in the Studio of Multimedia Artistic Design. Winner of the scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding young scientists. Five-time scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture. Winner of the "Młoda Polska" scholarship from the National Centre for Culture. Member of the Board of the Association of Applied Graphic Designers. Member of the Programme Committee of the International Poster Biennale. Member of the ATypI (Association Typographique Internationale). Winner of the Best of Design 2018 award - Klub Twórców Reklamy. Honoured as "Rising Star 2018" by the Type Directors Club New York. Received the "Animator 2020" award in the DESIGN ALIVE competition. Honoured by the President of the Republic of Poland with the medal commemorating the centenary of regained independence. Artistic director of the magazines "newonce.paper" and "Warsawholic". Author of over 70 typeface families, numerous corporate and multi-font typefaces and over 150 visual identifications of companies, institutions and events. Team leader of the revitalisation project "BRYGADA 1918", which was premiered in the Presidential Palace with the participation of the President of the Republic. Author of the intergenerational project Bona Nova, which was realised together with Andrzej Heidrich – the designer of Polish banknotes. Co-founder of the BORUTTA creative group, RESPECT WWA foundation. Author of numerous texts and articles about graphic design, visual culture and typography. Co-author of the TYPOTEKA.PL – Polish Typography Index and numerous exhibitions and cultural events. Parallel to design work, he conducts research projects, workshops and lectures in Poland and abroad.

Palace of Culture and Science

The building is one of the tallest and most recognizable buildings in Warsaw and can be seen from nearly every part of the city. It was inaugurated in 1955 at the behest of Joseph Stalin as a “gift from the Soviet people to the Poles.” Constructed by Russian workers, it was long regarded as a symbol of socialist power and a source of pride for People’s Poland, serving as the venue for conventions of the Polish United Workers’ Party. From the very beginning, its grand interiors have hosted a variety of concerts, exhibitions, fairs, and performances. Today, the palace houses theaters, a cinema, museums, trendy bars, and the main Warsaw Tourist Information office.

The building is located in the very center of Warsaw, between the Three Crosses Square and the De Gaulle Roundabout. It's a small and niche department store housed in the former communist-era censorship headquarters. On three levels of a cozy tenement house in modern, industrial style are located author’s fashion shops, jewelery, art. Interior furnishing and photo gallery. Shops such as Rilke, Orska, Bynamesakke and Svoi offer products created by local designers. There are several international high quality brands as Swedish COS or Japanese Muji.
